This two-storey timber lodge occupies an elevated woodland position within Bulworthy Forest Lodges, a 25-acre estate of forest and lakeside grounds in North Devon. Overlooking Webbery Lake and the surrounding woodland, it offers a peaceful countryside retreat complete with an outdoor hot tub on the veranda. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, the lodge is well suited to families and groups of friends looking to enjoy walking trails, birdwatching and free coarse and carp fishing across the estate’s five on-site lakes. The surrounding area offers plenty to explore, with Bideford, a historic market town on the River Torridge, providing independent shops, cafés and a twice-weekly Pannier Market. The coastal villages of Appledore, Instow and Clovelly are all within reach for memorable days out along the North Devon coastline, while the Tarka Trail offers a long-distance walking and cycling route through the surrounding countryside.
The ground floor features an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, creating a sociable space for spending time together after a day outdoors. A Smart TV is provided in the living area, while double glazing and central heating ensure comfort throughout the year. The accommodation includes a double bedroom and a single bedroom on the ground floor, with a further double bed and single bed on the first floor. The upstairs sleeping area also benefits from access to a balcony overlooking the surrounding landscape. A family bathroom is fitted with a bath and a separate shower. Wi-Fi is available throughout the stay, and the lodge is non-smoking. Please note that steep open cottage-style stairs connect the two floors and, together with the elevated position and external steps, make the property unsuitable for guests with mobility issues or very young children.
A veranda overlooks Webbery Lake and the surrounding woodland, providing an ideal spot to unwind while taking in the elevated views. The outdoor hot tub is positioned here, offering a relaxing place to soak amidst the peaceful forest setting. An electric BBQ is provided for outdoor cooking, while guests can enjoy free coarse and carp fishing across all five on-site lakes, with rods and tackle to be brought by visitors. The lodge is reached from the parking area via approximately 20 external steps and has parking for one car. A shared tumble dryer is available on site, and up to two dogs are welcome. Combining lakeside views, woodland tranquillity and access to North Devon’s coast and countryside, this lodge is an excellent choice for families and groups of friends seeking a memorable outdoor escape.
