This four-bedroom holiday home is set beside a lake on a Dorset development, around 6 miles inland from the Jurassic Coast. Family groups are a natural fit here, with space for up to six adults and two children and bedrooms spread over two floors. There’s plenty to do on-site, with a nature reserve and several lakes along with a spa, a bar, water sports such as paddle boarding and kayaking, and trails for walking and cycling. Outside the site, Dorchester is 6 miles away, where museums and attractions set out the market town's history alongside its shops.

Inside this modern home, the lounge/kitchen/diner runs the width of the ground floor, with dual aspect patio doors bringing in light and views of the adjacent lake and the woodlands beyond. The kitchen is arranged around a central island with plenty of surface and storage space, and an eight-seater dining table provides space for leisurely meals. There’s plenty of sofa space plus a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV for easy evenings in. A utility room and a shower room sit off this floor, along with the first bedroom – a double with a door leading outside. The three further bedrooms, all with lovely views, are on the first floor – you’ll have a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, along with a twin and a bunk bedroom. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the interior. Outside, a decked area wraps around the house, furnished with seating and a BBQ for al fresco dining. There's also a lawned area for kids to play. The private driveway has parking for one car, with more room in the shared on-site car park.

When it’s time to explore your surroundings, the village of Crossways has a shop for picking up supplies (0.5 miles) and there’s a pub a little further away (1.5 miles). Join the South West Coast Path (6 miles) and follow the cliffs and coves in both directions for a scenic day out. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door both lie 9 miles away, with rock formations rising out of the sea.
