This modern two-bedroom lodge sits in a holiday park near Tintagel (1 mile). Located within the majestic Cornwall National Landscape, with gorgeous views all around, it makes an inviting base for a family or two couples holidaying with their dog. Set off on foot along the coast path to Rocky Valley (0.5 miles), where the Trevillet River runs through woodland and between towering slate walls before reaching the sea. At Tintagel, you can pop in for coffee, browse the shops and choose something tasty from a bakery. The village’s medieval Old Post Office and cottage garden, a National Trust property, are worth making time for too. At Tintagel Castle (1.5 miles), explore the ruins and Arthurian stories, then pause at the cafe to take in the sea views. A trip to Boscastle (3 miles) offers a chance to wander around its historic harbour.
Inside this homely dwelling, the living, dining and kitchen areas share a bright open-plan space, with double-aspect windows and an apex ceiling adding to the airy feel. Settle into the comfortable sofas after a day out and watch something on the Smart TV while your designated chef for the evening prepares a meal in the well-equipped kitchen. For meals, gather at the dining table, thoughtfully placed beside the French windows for a lovely view over the surrounding countryside. When your eyelids begin to close, head to one of the two bedrooms – a double bedroom and a twin. These are served by a family bathroom with a bath with shower over and WC.
Outside, an enclosed, raised deck wraps around the lodge, giving your group space to enjoy the fresh air. There’s patio furniture so you can linger over breakfast or tuck into dinner while enjoying the vistas. Parking for one car is provided in front of the lodge.
