This two-bedroom lodge in a holiday park near Tintagel (1 mile) is a lovely base for a family or two couples exploring the Cornwall National Landscape with their dog. At Tintagel, stop for coffee and cake on the main street, pick up some fresh bread from the bakery and visit the National Trust Old Post Office and its cottage garden. Walkers can head along the South West Coast Path towards the woodland and dramatic slate gorge of Rocky Valley (0.5 miles). For a quiet afternoon, follow the path to St Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles) and its waterfalls. Tintagel Castle (1.5 miles) adds a dose of Arthurian legend to your stay. If you’d rather while away a few hours on the sand, Bossiney Cove (0.5 miles) appears at low tide; dogs are welcome all year round (please note: the route down includes steep cliff steps).
Inside, dual-aspect windows bring plenty of light into the open-plan living space, while the apex ceiling adds to its airy feel. The neutral décor is lifted by light blue units in the kitchen area, which has everything you need for making tasty fry-ups and evening meals. There’s a dining table seating four for sitting down to meals, and sofa space in front of the Smart TV for unwinding afterwards. Sliding doors open from the living area onto the decking. At bedtime, choose between a double bedroom and a twin with two smaller 2′6″ single beds. A Jack and Jill shower room with a WC connects the two bedrooms.
The spacious deck has garden furniture, so it’s easy to take food and drinks outdoors and lap up the lovely views as the sun goes down. When you fancy a soak, the hot tub is all ready to go. Parking for one car is provided beside the lodge.
