It’s part of a friendly holiday park within the National Landscape, making it ideal for a family or two couples and their dog. For an easy day out, pack a picnic and follow the Trevillet River through Rocky Valley (0.5 miles), where woodland gives way to dramatic slate walls before the river reaches the sea. Tintagel is an easy walk from the lodge – its famous castle (1.5 miles) makes a fine outing, with its Arthurian stories – not to mention an excellent cafe where you can linger with a cream tea as you soak up the sea views. You can also explore the pretty Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles) and its waterfalls, or head further along the coast to Port Isaac (11 miles) and Polzeath (15 miles).
Back at your timber home-from-home, dual-aspect windows and an apex ceiling give the open-plan kitchen and living area a bright and roomy feel. The well-presented kitchen is filled with all the necessary equipment for prepping holiday meals. This sits alongside a dining table for four, positioned by a window so you can take your time over breakfast. Two sofas provide a comfortable place to gather in the evening, with a Smart TV and DVD player for a film viewing. The double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, while the good-sized twin bedroom is served by a separate bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and WC.
French doors lead to a spacious, enclosed deck that wraps around the lodge. It has garden furniture so you can bring meals outside and enjoy views across the green countryside while you dine. Parking for one car is provided alongside the lodge, for straightforward arrivals and departures.
