Get away from it all at this beautiful Mongolian yurt, one of four sitting in a serene wildflower meadow on a farm just 2 miles from the National Trust land at Lansallos. Set above the Polperro Heritage Coast, it sleeps two people in one double bed - with two futons if there are four of you – which makes it ideal for couples or small families who are searching for a canvas bolthole to call home while they explore Cornwall together. Head off along the coastal path to Lansallos (2 miles) and follow the old smugglers' cut down to the beach. Or make your way into Polruan (3.5 miles) and catch the ferry across to Fowey to browse the shops and eat fresh seafood. In the evening, come home to light the fire pit. Hang the cooking tripod over the fire and whip up a campfire dinner under the fairy lights.
Pull into your private parking space (there's room for two cars) and follow the path to your beautiful Mongolian yurt. Step inside and you'll find a cast-iron wood burner surrounded by elegant rugs and soft furnishings within its sturdy canvas walls. When it’s time to eat, make your way to the shared kitchen in the farm's Grade II-listed granary, or light the fire pit and use the cooking tripod on your private deck. Afterward dinner, relax in the hammock or make a beeline for the shared games’ barn, where table football, table tennis, badminton and basketball games await. When the day is done, get a restful night’s sleep in your yurt’s double bed. Your shower room is just 100 metres away along a solar-lit path.
In the morning, kick off your day in the farm’s shared spa area, where you’ll find a wood-fired hot tub, a sauna and an ice-cold plunge shower. Catch the ferry to Fowey in the harbour village of Polruan (3.5 miles). Spend a glorious day exploring the galleries and eating seafood in Fowey, before you come home to whip up a pizza in one of the farm’s shared pizza ovens.
