Get the whole gang together at this wonderful safari tent sitting on a glamping site of four tents in the Teifi Valley, just 4 miles from the market town of Newcastle Emlyn. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, it's ideal for families or groups of friends who are searching for a back-to-nature basecamp to call home while they explore the rivers, woodlands and beaches of West Wales together. Watch salmon and sea trout leap the falls at Cenarth (3.5 miles), where coracle men have worked the river for centuries. Then head to Aberporth Beach (9 miles) for a swim, or to the Welsh Wildlife Centre at the Teifi Marshes (11.5 miles) to spot kingfishers. In the evening, come home to fire up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy a fun alfresco feast on your decked terrace.
Pull into your private parking spot (additional shared parking is available in the on-site car park) and step inside your canvas retreat. You’ll find a beautiful, boho-chic space where exposed wooden beams and thick insulation make this a genuine year-round proposition. A wood burner sits at the heart of the tent, and it earns its keep - it heats the space and doubles as an oven - so keep it well fed. Rustle up some dinner on the mini gas hob, or head out onto the decked terrace to fire up the charcoal BBQ. Afterward dinner, treat yourself to a dip in your private wood-fired hot tub (additional charge applies), or head off to the site’s shared bar, cafe and restaurant for a drink or two. At the end of the day, three bedrooms await: a king-size, a cabin-style double and a handy twin, and a shower room with a walk-in shower completes the layout. In the morning, wake up and make the most of the on-site facilities, from the treehouse play fort for the kids, to the disc golf course and river fishing amenities for the grown-ups.
Head into Cardigan (10.5 miles) to walk the castle grounds above the Teifi and browse the independent shops. Or make a beeline for the Welsh Wildlife Centre at the Teifi Marshes (11.5 miles), where boardwalks and hides look out over otter and kingfisher country. Further afield, the headland at Mwnt (12.5 miles) is one of the finest places in Britain to watch bottlenose dolphins from dry land.
