Escape with your special someone to this sweet shepherd’s hut, sitting on a complex of unique holiday homes on the fringes of the village of Bramfield, just 3 miles from the market town of Halesworth. Sleeping two guests, it’s perfect for couples in search of a back-to-nature hideaway to call home while they explore the Suffolk coast together. Pull on your walking boots and make a beeline for RSPB Minsmere (8 miles), where the heathland trails are home to woodlarks and nightjars, and you might spot otters in the reedbeds. Alternatively, spend a lazy day by the sea in Southwold (10 miles), where you can amble along the harbour and watch the fishing boats come and go. Further along the coast, head to Aldeburgh (16 miles) to stroll along the shingle beach and see the striking Scallop sculpture, a tribute to the composer Benjamin Britten.
Before stepping into this beautifully appointed shepherd’s hut, take a moment to savour the peaceful countryside surroundings, setting the scene for a nature-immersed stay. Head inside to find a chic studio-style living space, with everything needed for a comfortable stay set beneath a curved, wood-clad ceiling. At one end of the hut, a double bed sits beneath a window, while the rustic kitchenette features appliances for cooking light meals and preparing picnics for the day ahead. For more substantial cooking, an outdoor kitchen is shared with other guests. At the end of each day away, retreat to your hut and bask in the glow of the wood burner. Completing the offering is a composting WC next to the hut and two separate indoor shower rooms with WC's, located 100 metres away and shared with other guests between May and October.
Step outside and make full use of the private and shared outdoor spaces. A covered veranda sits outside the front door, while a private, unenclosed lawn invites you to dine alfresco at the bench seating before gathering around the fire pit. Find more space to unwind in the shared outdoor seating area and benefit from private off-road parking for two cars. While two other huts share the site, they have been positioned to ensure plenty of space and privacy for guests.
