Families and friends can settle into this six-person, single-storey spa lodge at Bowland Country Park, in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, with a private hot tub for stargazing beneath dark skies. Warm lighting and original artwork set a welcoming tone indoors.
The open-plan living space combines the lounge with the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully fitted with modern finishes and has a dining table close by. In the lounge, soft seating and a TV sit beside a wood burner; logs are available at additional cost. A hallway leads to three bedrooms. The king-size master bedroom has an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. The second and third bedrooms both have twin beds and share a family bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower attachment; it also has a WC. Patio doors open onto a private decked area with a hot tub and outdoor furniture; a gas BBQ is also available (gas is charged at additional cost). Private parking for two cars sits beside the lodge. Facilities at Bowland Country Park are shared with other guests. They include a café and children's play areas with go-karting and climbing frames. The farm has goats and pigs, as well as llamas and meerkats. Overflow space is available in the shared car park. The park also has woodland trails and walks along the River Hodder.
The village of Chipping lies 2.5 miles away and is the starting point for Parlick Hill (5 miles), whose summit looks out across the Ribble Valley. A pub is 3 miles from the lodge, while a shop and fishing are both 7 miles away. Clitheroe (9.5 miles) has Lancashire history and architecture, with shops and places to eat and drink. Keen walkers can take on Pendle Hill (15 miles) for Ribble Valley views from the top. Blackburn (15 miles) and Preston (16.5 miles) are larger towns for a day out.
