This single-storey spa lodge at Bowland Country Park is a retreat for couples, with a private hot tub on the deck and a freestanding bath in the bedroom, all surrounded by the rolling fells of the Forest of Bowland. The park sits on the edge of the River Hodder, where a riverside footpath offers slow, peaceful walks and plenty of wildlife to spot along the way. Reserved for couples only, the lodge pairs homely comforts with a contemporary edge.
The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is the centre of the lodge. It has a high-spec kitchen, a dining table for two, and a plush L-shaped sofa facing the wood burner and TV. The super king-size bedroom is dressed with premium linens and cushions and has its own freestanding bath. Next door, the en-suite shower room has a walk-in shower, his & her basins and WC. A separate family bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment and a WC. All accommodation is on one level. Bi-fold doors open onto a private decked area with outdoor furniture, a gas BBQ, and a private hot tub. Private parking for two cars sits beside the lodge, with overflow space in an on-site car park shared with other guests at the park. The park's café and woodland trails are shared with other guests. The farm, also shared with other guests, is home to wild boar and pigs.
Chipping, a quiet, traditional Lancashire village, lies 2.5 miles away and has a country pub and a farm shop. A 5-mile circular walk from the village climbs Parlick Hill, with sweeping views across the Ribble Valley from the summit. Fishing is available 7 miles from the lodge.
