Take four wooden steps up to your timber-clad retreat, and slide back the glazed front door. The interior is surprisingly spacious, featuring timber finishes and gentle colours. The open-plan living area benefits from underfloor heating, ideal in cooler months, and includes a comfortable sofa that converts into a bed for two children, plus a Smart TV for relaxed evenings with a favourite film. The kitchenette features a two-ring hob, microwave and fridge – everything necessary for preparing simple holiday meals - and a breakfast bar with seating for two. In the far corner, the inviting double bed is positioned for waking up to country views (please bear in mind that one side is against the wall). An en-suite shower room with a conventional flushing WC completes the interior. For drinks or meals with a view, the raised, covered deck with a bistro set overlooks the scenery, while a picnic bench and an enclosed lawn at the foot of the steps (both shared) offer more options for dining and relaxing outdoors. Private parking for one car is available outside.
The pod is located next to another ‘shephod’ on a working family farm in the heart of Cumbria. It’s perfectly located for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers, with the Coast to Coast walk just 0.5 miles away, and the Smardale Gill Nature Reserve, home to red squirrels and rare butterflies, 1.5 miles away. Head to the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen (2.5 miles) for shops, pubs and cafes, and explore Appleby, Hawes, Sedbergh and Barnard Castle (all within 30 miles).
