This delightful pair of shepherd’s huts sits in a peaceful, elevated spot with unrivalled Lakeland views. The accommodation, which is 3 miles from Pooley Bridge, is perfect for adventure-loving couples and solo travellers, with endless Lake District walking trails to explore nearby, including the famous fells of Helvellyn, Blencathra, and Skiddaw, all within 20 miles.
The double shepherd hut is one of three holiday retreats on the glamping site and provides ample space for you to spread out and relax during your Cumbrian getaway. A few steps lead to the front door of the first hut and into a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Spend time here, creating delicious feasts using local ingredients and sharing romantic dinners for two at the dining table. In the evenings, fire up the wood burner and settle down for a cosy night in front of the Smart TV. When it’s time for bed, head along the hallway to the second hut, where an inviting king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room awaits. Outside, cook alfresco on the multi-stove and dine under the stars on balmy evenings, followed by a soak in your private, wood-fired hot tub. Private parking is available for one car.
Journey into the picturesque village of Pooley Bridge to potter around the independent shops, before refuelling in one of the cute cafes or tearooms. The village sits at the northern end of Ullswater, and from the pier you can board one of the iconic steamers to explore the area from the water. Alternatively, join the 20-mile Ullswater Way which circumnavigates the lake. Nearby Lowther Castle and Gardens (7.5 miles) makes a lovely day out, with its atmospheric ruins, floral displays, and bird of prey centre.
