Stretch out on the sofas for film nights with a Smart TV and DVD player, warmed by a coal-effect electric fire, and linger over meals in the dining area beside the fitted kitchen designed for easy holiday cooking, with thoughtful extras provided. A private sauna offers a soothing end to a day out. The sleeping set-up includes a king-size bedroom with an en-suite walk-in shower, plus two twin bedrooms that can be arranged as doubles on request. A family bathroom features a bath with a shower over the bath. Outside, a gated veranda with outdoor rattan seating is made for slow breakfasts and relaxed evenings, while the private hot tub is sunken into the decking for easy access. You’ll also find an on-site shop and private parking next to the lodge.

When you’re ready to explore, Framlingham Castle (8.5 miles) delivers sweeping views from its storied ramparts.
