Relax in style at this chic single-level lodge sitting on a peaceful complex of glamping cabins between Wadebridge and Rock – where you’ll have the Camel Estuary spread out before you when you sit on your deck. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it's perfect for families or groups of friends who are searching for a chic base to call home while they cycle, sail and surf their way around North Cornwall together. Pick up the Camel Trail at Wadebridge (3.5 miles) and ride the flat, traffic-free old railway line 5.5 miles into Padstow for a seafood lunch. Or head to Rock (2.5 miles) to go paddleboarding, set off on a wildlife sea safari or check out what’s on offer at the local brewery. In the evening, come home to throw open the French doors and raise a glass of wine to the estuary views.
Pull into your private parking spot (there's room for two cars) and step inside your smart lodge. You'll find a spacious, light and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with sofas with French doors that lead straight onto your beautiful, large deck. The kitchen area makes self-catering a breeze, and you can eat in the sleek dining area, or head out onto the decked area to dine alfresco while you soak up the estuary views in front of you. After dinner, head over to the shared games’ room to play pool, or stretch out in front of the Smart TV in the lounge area. When the day is done, a king-size bedroom with an en-suite with a shower over the bath, and a handy twin bedroom, are waiting for you. A family shower room completes the stylish layout. In the morning, wake up and sip your coffee at the breakfast bar and then head off to the shared indoor heated pool for a refreshing dip (open April and end of October).
Cross over to Padstow on the Rock ferry (2.5 miles) to explore the harbour, galleries and the western end of the Camel Trail. Or drive out to the National Trust’s Pentireglaze (3 miles) to take the 3.5-mile headland circuit to Pentire Point and the Rumps - where an Iron Age promontory fort sits above the sea. Alternatively, Polzeath (3 miles) draws beginners with its long, slow-breaking waves and choice of surf schools.
