Recharge your batteries with a relaxing stay at this smart glamping pod set on a holiday park. It makes a perfect retreat for one or two couples or even a small family, with one separate double bedroom and a double sofabed in the living area. Located within a National Landscape, it’s ideal for getting out and exploring the local countryside and towns.
Up a couple of steps, you’ll enter this attractive lodge. The bright and airy living area is open-plan, with a well-equipped kitchen along one side, plus a dining table and lounge, complete with a sofabed. The double bedroom is off to the rear of the cabin, along with the shower room. The decor is neutral, with modern fixtures and quality finishes to give this cosy pod a sophisticated feel. Through the French doors off the living space, you can access the slightly raised decking that’s fully enclosed. It’s furnished for relaxing, but if you want to dine alfresco, there’s a picnic bench just outside on your private patio area, complete with a brick BBQ plinth for bringing your own, and surrounded by lawn.
Kirkby Lonsdale (1 mile) is the nearest town, a picturesque spot that won’t disappoint, with independent shopping, pubs, cafes as well as a weekly market selling all manner of things, including fresh food – much of it locally produced; just right for holiday catering. To the north of the town is picturesque Ruskin’s View, as painted by J.M.W. Turner, while to the south is the 14th-century Devil’s Bridge spanning the River lune. But, wherever you go, there’s no shortage of riverside paths, walks and trails for outward-bound types to discover by foot or bike.
