Have a fabulous time making family memories in this quirky pod on a glamping complex set amid a 60-acre estate, just perfect for exploring the North York Moors National Park and surrounding area. With bunk beds for two children, a comfortable king-size bed for the grown-ups and space (plus treats!) for two dogs, it’s an exciting place to stay.
All ages will love the quirky, organic shape of this tunnel-like pod, offering brilliant indoor-outdoor living, with surprisingly generous open-plan interiors, so you can easily keep an eye on little ones. Entering via double doors in a big round window, you’ll find the comfortable lounge area, then the king-size bed. Further back is a compact kitchenette and groovy bunks built into the wall by the round porthole-style window that lets light into the rear of the pod. Light and airy decor, with statement walls and pops of colour give it a modern appearance, while wood floors are handy with kids and dogs in tow. Dine inside on the compact fold-up table or head outside to the comfy deck seating. There’s also a shared 20-acre dog field and children’s play area on the site.
The pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale is 1 mile away, as is the lively market town of Pickering – both of which offer shopping, cafes, eateries and picturesque streets. Take a heritage train ride from Pickering’s 1930s-era station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway through 24 miles of beautiful landscape to famous Whitby on the coast. Families with little ones in tow will love Go Ape in Dalby Forest (5 miles) with its outdoor adventure circuits. But, there’s stacks to do here anyway, with miles of walking and cycling trails. Another highlight is Flamingo Land (5.5 miles) which is a resort, zoo and theme park all in one.
