Head off with your travel buddies of choice – family, friends or just as a couple – plus up to two canine chums to this cleverly designed cabin, set on a small private lodge park in the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds. Be prepared for peace and quiet, plus wonderful dark night skies to help you relax and unwind. It’s the ideal base for some serious R&R immersed in nature, or to explore this beautiful part of the country.
Rustic, yet sleek, this comfortable lodge offers fantastic open-plan living that feels spacious, with the vaulted ceiling and wood-clad floors, walls and ceiling. The comfortable lounge area sits next to the French doors, so you can easily let the outside in. Dine at the dinner table, enjoying the view after preparing a holiday feast in the well-equipped kitchen. Outside, you can admire the verdant vista from the furnished, raised deck as you just sit or dine alfresco or BBQ. There’s also a lawned area for doggies to enjoy sniffing around, plus parking for two cars.
Driffield, also known as ‘the Capital of the Wolds’ is 4.5 miles away and this area is renowned for having inspired the iconic artist David Hockney. You can even visit or spot locations he used for his paintings. If you’re travelling with children, then Sewerby Hall and Gardens (14 miles) also has a zoo as well as putting on family activities at certain times of the year. A short hop away, Bridlington (12 miles) has super sandy swathes, a harbour and an interesting Old Town. The outward bound can even undertake the six-mile walk from here to Flamborough Head along the clifftop path. It’s renowned for its birdlife, and the very lucky might even spot puffins.
