Unplug and unwind at this luxurious safari tent sitting among ancient oaks on an adults-only wellness retreat at Mithian Downs - just 1 mile from the surf beaches and mine stacks of St Agnes. Sleeping two people in one king-size bed, it's ideal for couples who are searching for a screen-free hideaway to call home while they digitally detox among the cliffs and coves of North Cornwall. Head down to Trevaunance Cove (2.5 miles) for a surf lesson on the St Agnes Heritage Coast, or set off for the clifftop engine house at Wheal Coates (4 miles), which is perched above the sea on the South West Coast Path. Or head to Perranporth (4.5 miles) for a day on the beach. In the evening, come home to climb into your wood-fired hot tub and watch the stars twinkle through the treetops.
Pull up in your private parking spot and stroll 500 metres through the trees to your glamorous Wi-Fi free tent. Step inside and you'll find a spacious open-plan layout with a living area, dining space and kitchen. Reclaimed pallets adorn the walls and African-inspired decor takes centre stage. Fire up the wood burner and range, which doubles as a pizza oven, and enjoy a pizza dinner at the dining table or at the picnic bench in your private garden area. After dinner, treat yourself to a dip in your outdoor wood-fired hot tub. When the day is done you’ll find a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room to the rear of the tent. In the morning, enjoy a coffee on your raised deck and then kick off your day with a massage, facial, yoga class, meditation session or sauna on site (charges apply).
Head to St Agnes Head (4 miles) and take the 1-mile circular walk across one of the largest surviving tracts of heathland in Cornwall. Along the way you’ll pass the wartime slit trenches of Cameron Camp. Make your way to Chapel Porth (4.5 miles) at low tide to explore the caves, or drive north to Perranporth (4.5 miles) to go surfing. Further afield, the Coast to Coast Trail (8 miles) runs 11 traffic-free miles from Portreath to Devoran along an old mineral tramway – and it’s a great trail to explore on bike.
