Rest and recharge at this sweet traditional shepherd's hut sitting in a private garden on the edge of peaceful village of Brisley, deep in the Norfolk countryside. Sleeping two people in one king-size bed, it's ideal for couples who are searching for a peaceful bolthole to call home while they explore the wide skies, nature reserves and coastlines of Norfolk together. Walk straight out onto Brisley Common (150 metres) and you’ll find 230 acres of grazing land alive with wildflowers and ground-nesting birds. On your way home, make sure you stop off for a drink at the friendly village pub (500 metres). Further afield, cast a line at Bilney Lakes (1.5 miles) to catch some carp. In the evening, come home to light the fire pit in your garden and watch the stars fill an unusually dark Norfolk sky.
Pull into your private parking spot and climb the four steps up to your hut's door. Inside you'll find a single open-plan space where the lounge, kitchenette, diner and bedroom flow into one another. Glass French doors frame beautiful views of the fields beyond. Underfloor heating, full electricity and plug and USB sockets throughout mean this is a shepherd's hut without the compromises. Cook up your favourite dishes in the kitchenette and then settle in front of the Smart TV for movie night. Alternatively, head out into your garden and take a seat by the crackling fire pit. A king-size bed sits at the end of the hut, and an en-suite shower room completes the layout.
Set off for Pensthorpe (9.5 miles) to explore the lakeside trails, wildlife gardens and hides. Or head north to the pine-backed sands at Wells-next-the-Sea (16.5 miles) to take some photos by the beach huts that line the shore. Further afield, the beach and deer park at Holkham (18 miles) are among the finest on the Norfolk coast, and at the Royal Estate at Sandringham (21 miles) you’ll find 20,000 acres of parkland to explore.
