Tucked in the peaceful village of Hope, within the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, this luxury lodge sits at the foot of the Stiperstones with big-sky views and a private hot tub to savour them. It’s a welcoming base for friends and families, with two dogs invited too, and offers the kind of space that makes group time easy and relaxed. Set on the owner’s grounds yet designed for complete privacy, it suits walkers, cyclists and anyone keen to swap the everyday for fresh air, comfort and countryside.
Step inside to a well-planned entrance where boots and coats have their place before you move through to the open-plan living area. Unwind on comfortable sofas and catch a film on the large Smart TV, or gather at the dining table, which seats six, for long, lazy meals. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for self-catering. Three calm bedrooms sit away from the social hub: two king-size rooms, each with an en-suite shower room and WC, plus a twin with a bathroom directly opposite featuring a shower over the bath and WC. Every bedroom has a Smart TV, luxury linens and super soft oodies for slower mornings. From the living space, steps lead down to an enclosed garden with a patio, outdoor furniture and a BBQ. At the far end, a six-person hot tub and a summer house with seating await; robes are provided, with space to hang them in the summer house between dips. There’s secure bike storage for those tackling local trails and private off-road parking for three cars. A welcome pack sets the tone on arrival.
You’ll find a pub 0.5 miles away and a shop at 4 miles. Lace up for the Stiperstones, a much-loved hill with waymarked routes and far-reaching views across rolling countryside. For a day of history and grand gardens, visit Powis Castle at 13 miles. Shrewsbury, 14 miles, rewards a wander with medieval streets, Tudor timber frames, a riverside loop and the red sandstone Shrewsbury Castle. Walkers also make for Church Stretton at 19 miles, where the National Trust’s Long Mynd is a highlight with its sweeping upland scenery and varied trails.
