Surrounded by rolling countryside, this charming lodge offers a peaceful retreat for couples and small families. A welcoming and quirky hideaway with far-reaching rural views, it’s a real home from home, boasting a wood burner, a Smart TV and en-suite shower room.
Thoughtfully designed as an open-plan studio for cooking, dining, relaxing and sleeping, this generously sized timber lodge combines rustic character with a bright, open living space, featuring large windows that frame the rural views. The comfortable lounge area includes a sofa, easy chair, Smart TV and wood burner for cosy evenings indoors. The kitchenette provides everything required for simple self-catering, including a microwave and an air fryer, and the dining area is a breakfast bar with high stools positioned to enjoy the views. A double bed and separate daybed (with a pull-out bed below) share the open-plan layout, though they can be separated by a curtain. Completing this fabulous escape is a refreshing shower room. The covered veranda has a bistro set for outdoor snacks, morning coffees or evenings spent admiring the dark skies, and there’s a second bistro set and a fire pit on the large lawn. Private parking for one car is included.
The lodge is located in Glengap, just outside the village of Twynholm and less than 5 miles from the ‘artists’ town’ of Kirkcudbright, where there’s a vibrant series of annual events as well as an array of shops and eateries. Head out for a tranquil stroll through Cally Woods (7.5 miles) or admire the unique garden design at Threave Garden (12 miles). For swimming, sea kayaking and paddleboarding, numerous beaches are reachable within 12 miles.
