At Willowgate Adventure Centre (15 miles), enjoy guided kayak tours, stand-up paddleboarding and trout fishing on the River Tay. Sitting at the mouth of the Tay just past Dundee, Broughty Ferry (16 miles) offers a brilliant family day out, with its sweeping stretch of golden sands, rock garden and 15th-century castle.
