The sea view is as advertised just a glimpse over the top of parked cars. Only one other view, of the grass slope from the lounge. The rear of the property is a narrow strip of decking with an uncut hedge blocking any view. We were unfortunate to have poor weather and having two planned power cuts and boiler and kettle failures didnt make for a goRead moreod break. The 3/4 mile road to the property from the A35 is extremely narrow and full of pot holes. On the good side, a visit to the estate and West Bay are worthwhile, sadly Bridport, as told to us by a local is dead, a ghost town.. Hide

A good location for exploring the area and very close to Eype beach (2 minutes walk). Its a comfortable, nicely furnished chalet. We were there in February and so it was very quiet, which suited us, but I imagine its a different vibe in June/July/August. We would visit again but only out of season. We had a lovely holiday at Beach Retreat. Navigating the narrow access road can be a bit nerve-wracking but the chalet is beautiful and very well equipped to a high standard. We enjoyed barbeques on the patio, walks over the clifftop to West Bay and had two superb meals at the Seagull Restaurant.
