We was really impressed with this little lodge which was right next to the owners house, Richard and Nicola weew great hosts and had 2 lovely dogs called Willow and Macey which our dog Willow loved playing with when we were there, they also have 3 friendly Alpacas and some chickens, the place is out in the country and the road that takes you to it Read moreis a bit bumpy with pot holes but to be expected in that area with farms around, some lovely pubs to visit not far from there and great places round to visit even by train from okehampton. The Lodge has,everything you need and more so home from home. Really would recommend this place. Hide

Perfect for a quiet break. Ideal for walking if you have a dog. Owners were lovely. Don't leave without buying some of the home grown veg!

A great location for peace and quiet, superb accommodation, spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful hosts 2 beautiful friendly little doggies, friendly alpacas and chickens. Our weather was very hot but the breeze off the fields kept us cool. We didn't want to leave, had a fantastic holiday! The place is amazing with a beautiful garden and fields for our 2 dogs to run freely and safely. The owners Nicola and Richard were very welcoming as were their gorgeous dogs Willow and Macy. Helped us with places to eat out at, the Bull and Dragon and Tally Ho were spot on. Excellent accommodation, excellent owners Richard & Nicola always on hand if we need them. Very helpful with regards to the area and knowledge. Owls Oak Retreat was just that, a real retreat. It was quiet with just bird song. The chalet was lovely, clean and very comfortable. The hosts, Nicola and Richard were always on hand if you needed anything; they were knowledgeable about the area and happy to suggest good places for dog walks and restaurants. Very comfortable. Very isolated if you are looking for peace and quiet. My only comment would be that you should be aware that the narrow lane leading to the property has a lot of potholes some of which are quite deep.

Nestled in a beautifully quiet part of Devon, the chalet is exceptionally clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable 'home away from home' experience. Couldnt fault our stay at Owls Oak Retreat. The chalet was very clean and equipped. We were able to meet Nicola (husband was working that day so unfortunately werent able to meet) who was super lovely and accommodating, we were able to meet their lovely pooches who also met our own (we got a lovely welcome each morning by them). Owls retreat is a lovely country retreat, what a wonderful relaxing break. If you want to enjoy peace and quiet but still have good internet this is a great place to stay. Hosts are great, place is beautiful. Highly recommend.

Lodge is in an extremely peaceful and tranquil location off the beaten track . Everything you need is supplied for you. Dogs had plenty of space to go for long walks or just play in the fields. Couldn't wish for a better place for serenity.

Us and the dog loved it, lovely people running a clean, well equipped place in a lovely quiet setting, not too much of a long drive from a few seaside towns. The owners dogs are lovely and you get plenty of your own space and privacy. There are animals in the next paddocks behind you, but they're great too.

Nicola and Richard were fantastic hosts and very patient with our Romanian Rescue who can be nervous around new dogs but eventually made friends with their lovely two dogs and the alpacas. We wanted a peaceful spot near family where we could relax and have a base for exploration of the beautiful Devon countryside, Owls Oak Chalet provided both for us.
