This cosy retreat is built in an elevated position to capture the lovely views. It offers peace and quiet thanks to its tranquil location by the Brook Cound, a tributary of the River Severn. But, despite its rural position this well-equipped wooden cabin offers guests a really comfortable stay amid deluxe surrounds – and, what’s more, your canine chum can join you! It’s a great place from which to explore the Shropshire Hills and other sites like Ironbridge.
Up a flight of steps to the side, via the decked veranda, you’ll enter the open-plan living area. Once inside, the walls and curved ceiling are all clad in light wood, giving the bright and airy place a Scandi vibe. There’s everything you need – a double bed, seating, a quirky little breakfast bar and also a kitchenette and a shower room. Through the door, there’s a bistro table set on the covered decking. Below the pod, near the stream, there’s another private terrace surrounded by lawn, complete with a picnic bench and BBQ. It’s worth noting that parking is off the main track, so pod access is via a bridge over the stream.
Located in the beautiful Shropshire Hills, there’s loads of great walking and cycling all around. The nearest town is Church Stretton (3 miles) which offers walking and cycling paths, most notably Cardingmill Valley, which even has a waterfall. There’s also lots of indie shopping, cafes, pubs and eateries where you can enjoy a treat. Ironbridge Gorge is 17 miles and definitely worth a day trip. It’s both a UNESCO Heritage site and part of the National Trust and is known as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Ludlow (17 miles) is a stunning example of an historic market town teeming with old buildings, a ruined medieval castle and foodie options.
