Switching off and completely unwind with a stay in this magical cabin. Whether you come alone, as a couple or with children, you can paddle in the nearby brook, cook on the fire pit and snuggle up by the wood burner after exciting days outdoors.
You’ll reach your holiday destination (actually a group of charming huts) via a path around a meadow from the parking area, using a wheelbarrow to transport your luggage. The main hut, with two steps up to the door, is an octagonal space in which rustic charm meets imaginative design, featuring whimsical wallpaper and fairy lights around the exposed beams. This is your bedroom, lounge and dining area, including a double bed and a sofa that converts into either twin beds or a king-size. A wood burner keeps the space snug on cooler nights, and there’s also a dining table for two. While there are no plug sockets or Wi-Fi, you’ll have a 4G signal and USB charging for phones. A separate lodge houses the kitchenette, with one step up to the inside. Here you’ll have everything you need to prepare simple meals. You’ll find a private shower and a WC in neighbouring timber lodges, also just a few steps away. A shaded outdoor dining area includes a picnic table, deck chairs and a fire pit, and you’re welcome to explore the surrounding meadows.
This unique retreat is located on a small glamping site with just one other cabin. Pack a picnic and set out on walks from your door, to Talgarth Common, Hay Bluff and Twmpa, all within 6 miles. In Glasbury (3 miles) there’s a riverside beach where you can go wild swimming and canoeing, while Hay-on-Wye (6.5 miles) offers book stores as well as a choice of pubs, cafes, takeaways and restaurants.
