This beautifully crafted detached lodge pairs inspiring interiors with wide-open countryside views, creating a special place to slow down and reconnect. It’s ideal for a couple or a small family who want time together in comfort, with the added appeal of footpaths and cycle routes close by for fresh-air adventures. Unwind on the veranda, stretch out on the sun loungers and soak up the setting between the characterful country towns of Castle Cary and Somerton.

Inside, the light-filled open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining space welcomes you with a high ceiling and far-reaching views. Settle into the comfortable sofas with handy USB ports and a Smart TV, then pull back the large glass doors to extend living outdoors to the deck. The kitchen is well equipped for easy mealtimes around the dining table. The serene master bedroom features a king-size zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as twins on request, a Smart TV and French doors to the veranda for a morning coffee with meadow views. Children will love the cosy twin mezzanine, accessed via a ladder-style staircase from the master bedroom; care should be taken with young children as the ladder is not enclosed. A contemporary bathroom includes a separate bath, a separate shower and a WC. There’s a utility cupboard with a washing machine, plus a travel cot and highchair available on request. Outside, a rear decked veranda with table, chairs and sun loungers overlooks the lawn that wraps around the lodge, while a covered front porch keeps muddy wellies and outdoor gear out of the way. You’ll have private parking for two cars at the front, and secure bike storage can be arranged on request. Please note, no BBQs and no dogs are permitted.

You’re well placed for days out: Castle Cary is 7.5 miles and Somerton 8 miles, both with shops, cafes and pubs. There’s a pub 1 mile away and shops 4 miles away for everyday essentials. With a train station 6 miles away, you can plan city trips to Bristol or Bath. This absolutely first class accommodation is a rare treat. It was spotlessly clean with all amenities on hand. There are comfortable patio furniture with reclining chairs and two sun beds.
