Property code: OC-D34924

Treat yourself to an extraordinary glamping experience in this luxurious two-level geodome sitting beside a private fishing pond on a working farm in Thurnham. With views over the rolling Lancashire countryside, it sleeps four people across two king-size beds and is ideal small families or groups who are searching for a base with the wow-factor while they explore the Lake District, the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales together. Wake up and cast a coarse fishing line into the on-site pond (£10 per person per day), or simply spend a peaceful morning exploring the site’s shared farmland. Or spend happy days discovering the medieval castle in Lancaster (7 miles) or the vast estuary cycle path to Morecambe (10 miles). In the evening, come home to stretch out on your mezzanine king-size bed to stargaze through the dome above you.

Pull up in your private parking spot (there’s room for three cars) and step inside your unique two-level geodome, where thoughtful furnishings and calming decor create a genuinely luxurious feel from the very first moment. At the heart of the living space is a stylish bio-ethanol fire, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for cosy evenings indoors while enjoying the beautiful countryside views. You'll find a king-size bed on the ground floor alongside a sofa bed for a child (available on request), as well as a unique second king-size bed on the mezzanine level above - perched directly above the kitchen and bathroom and perfectly positioned for stargazing through the dome roof. An elegant living/dining area with farm views, a compact kitchen and a chic shower room complete the interior layout.

For an extra special stay, guests can enjoy a unique on-site culinary experience. The owner can prepare freshly cooked homemade curries to order, tailored to your personal tastes and preferences. You can also relax in the coffee hut and enjoy freshly ground coffee, available with or without delicious pastries and croissants, providing the perfect start to your day or a leisurely treat during your stay.

Step through the French doors into the private enclosed garden, and you’ll find a patio area with garden furniture so you can dine alfresco by the fishing lake. Shared farmland around the lake offers plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs.

Head into the magnificent medieval city of Lancaster (7 miles) to climb the Norman castle and enjoy the panoramic views over the Lune Estuary. Afterwards, treat yourself to dinner in one of the city’s superb restaurants. Or make your way into the Victorian seaside resort of Morecambe (10 miles) to stroll along the promenade and take in the views across the bay to the Lakeland fells. Further afield, pull on your walking shoes and head to the Forest of Bowland (within 15 miles) to tackle the Trough of Bowland. You may even find yourself with red grouse and peregrine falcons for company.

Stunning dome, stunning location and brilliant host, Donny went out of his way and beyond for us and the food his wife cooked was out of this world. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and im sure we will be back!

The Dome is absolutely amazing! The photos are deceptive; it is much bigger inside than it looks and is decorated to such a high specification - the hosts have been so thoughtful with all of the finishing touches, it is such a beautiful and relaxing environment. The beds are SO comfortable, we could have stayed there for weeks and will definitely bRead moree returning in future! Hide
