Lovely, comfortable cottage, equipped with absolutely anything you could possibly need. Slept really well in a very comfortable bed. The welcome pack was lovely and the dog treats were sniffed out immediately. Felt like home from home. Fishing was good, caught plenty of fish and made friends with the ducks and swans - so peaceful ...

Cottage was exactly as advertised, very comfortable and very pretty. Plus it was relatively cool in the very hot weather. We had an issue with a tap that the owner sorted asap despite being away himself. The scenery is beautiful, can't fault it. Nice walks if you have a dog, the neighbours and surrounding residents are warm and friendly. The cottage is ok, part of it is done very well but there are areas such as the location of the washing machine and tumble dryer which need serious attention - an uninviting shed. The advert on the website for the Read moreproperty shows a lovely welcome basket and the guest book had comments raving about the baskets - we did not receive on but the dog did, but his had an opened packet of treats and towels in case he got muddy. We were asked not to walk on the carpets with shoes on and slippers were meant to be supplied as stated in the information book - they were not (maybe they were in the welcome hamper). There was not enough washing up liquid so we had to supply our own. The garden needed some attention, it was a struggle to get in and out of the gates due to the overgrown plants. My partner and I felt that compared to other properties we have stayed at, this one fell short, it was not good value for money. Response from holiday cottages - Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Storybrooke, the owner has approached us with regards to the welcome hamper and has advised that a full hamper is provided for guests staying for a week, the website has now been updated to reflect this. Unfortunately, the owners were out of the country during your stay and were not able to drop off a bottle of wine which is generally left for guests staying for a short break. Slippers are no longer provided and are not stated on the listing, the owners accept that the garden may have not been presented as it usually would be due to the recent weather conditions. Hide

We meet some of the neighbours who were all very friendly , the area has a lovely community feel. The cottage was well equipped for our needs, we didn't actually use the lounge as due to the weather we spent the majority of our day outside. We are planning to go back again later in the year.
