Moored in quiet Penton Hook Marina along the River Thames, this floating home from home doesn’t move, but provides a great base for exploring this exciting area of Surrey.
Sleeping up for four people and one lucky hound, this charming houseboat offers surprisingly spacious and super comfortable accommodation. Bright and airy, thanks to lots of windows (regular and portholes!), the open-plan living area makes a really welcoming communal space, with clearly zoned areas for cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and eating at the breakfast bar. In the lounge area, there’s even a Smart TV and a cosy wood burner for chilly nights. At the bow, the king-size bedroom is an inviting space, with double doors opening onto a small seating area. The bunk bedroom is located in the middle of the boat. Both bedrooms share a slightly bohemian bathroom, complete with a roll top bath for relaxing soaks. Behind the kitchen, there’s a large sofa on a raised level that’s covered to keep both extreme sun and rain out. The marine is surrounded by parkland, with riverside walks if you want to take the dog for an easy walk.
There’s loads to do during your stay here, not least for families, with LEGOLAND Windsor 9.5 miles away, while the exciting thrills and spills of Thorpe Park are walkable, at just under one mile away. More adult entertainment is available at many events year-round at Ascot Racecourse (9.5 miles). On the edge of Chertsey, there’s no shortage of shopping or dining opportunities in the town centre. Culture is available too, with Chertsey Museum 2 miles away, offering local history exhibits and various collections.
