The Cowshed is a lovely home from home, tucked down a quiet lane in picturesque village of Farnham. It has a sunny private outside area. The parking space was a bonus. The house was very well equipped with everything you need, including oil, salt and pepper and tea and coffee. The Nespresso coffee maker was an added luxury as we do love our coffeRead moree. There were two french presses in you like ground coffee, so these were put to good use. The knives were a little blunt but we managed. Plenty of pans and a dish for meals like cottage pie. It was lovely to have a dishwasher. Not a lot of countertop space but the kitchen table was ideal for cooking prep. Maybe some extra towels would have been useful. The towels were also quite small so I would recommend bringing your own if you like bigger ones. The beds were very comfortable with lovely cotton bedding. It was lovely to have doors opening from the bedrooms to the outside space. The shower in the en suite was lovely, although the hot water was unpredictable. Luckily there is a boost switch in the cupboard where the washing machine lives. The sofas were very comfortable. It was a lovely surprise to find a bottle of wine, some beer and some milk in the fridge. We highly recommend this lovely cottage and found it an ideal base for exploring all the amazing places in Dorset. We would definitely stay again! We had a drink in the pub but didn't eat there. I recommend checking Trip Advisor before you go. We ate in the Fox and Goose as recommended by the lady at the Chettle Farm shop, which is only 2 miles away and is stocked with lots of lovely local produce. The Fox and Goose was a good recommendation. We visited Kingston Lacy (fantastic!), Corfe Castle by Steam train from Norden Station. The views from the castle were splendid and the history was very interesting. We would recommend the ferry to Brownsea Island from Poole Harbour. Hide

The cabin was cute, and made for a relaxing stay. It would have benefitted from a more thorough clean, though.

The cottage was lovely, perfect for myself and my dogs. There is a great local dog walk in a field accessible through the farm and the pub is easy to get to (via the road or through the fields) and it does nice food and is dog friendly. Lots of brilliant walks and towns within a short drive. Would recommend and would come again.
