Tucked away in a secluded field at the back of a former dairy farm, the yurts overlook paddocks and offer stunning views across to Duncliffe. Nature lovers will be enchanted by the wildlife that visits regularly, from hares and foxes to deer, badgers, and a vibrant array of birds. The surrounding countryside is perfect for exploration, with scenic walking trails and a 15-mile cycle path along an old railway line just five miles away. A mile from the yurts, anglers can unwind at the peaceful Todber Manor Fishing Lakes, while equestrian enthusiasts can set off from two nearby centres to ride through rolling fields. For a taste of local history, the hilltop town of Shaftesbury offers a charming museum, historic Abbey, iconic Gold Hill and a wide selection of independent shops, with some great places to dine out for foodies too.
The yurt may look authentically Mongolian from the outside, but step inside and you’ll discover modern comforts thoughtfully added to make this a true 21st-century glamping retreat. Each one features a double wrought-iron bed and two elegant Victorian style day beds, all dressed in freshly laundered white linens. With their own electricity supply, the yurts provide soft lighting and convenient charging for all your devices. Deceptively spacious, they offer ample room for a compact stove complete with a traditional Mongolian-style kettle, perfect for brewing your morning or evening cuppa without ever leaving the warmth of your yurt. At the heart of the yurt sits the true centrepiece, a beautiful wood-burning stove, positioned so its gentle heat radiates evenly throughout the space, creating an irresistibly cosy and inviting atmosphere.
Each yurt boasts its very own outdoor picnic and sitting area, comprising table and benches, parasol, barbecue, drinking water tap and private fire pit. Nearby on site find your own dedicated lockable wet room in the The Old Hay Barn, with shared access to Table Tennis, a pool table and a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils provided for your personal use, a private fridge and a communal dining/lounge area. There is plenty of room for playing outdoors, with a wooden jungle gym and disc golf course. Each yurt sits within the open grounds, cleverly screened to ensure privacy, however as the site itself is fully enclosed you can relax whilst children roam and play.
