This quirky glamping pod, which was hand-built by a local craftsman, sits on a woodland site at the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It’s in a lovely and peaceful spot beside the canal and the River Calder, giving couples and families a restful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In nearby Catterall and Garstang (both 1.5 miles), you’ll find all the amenities you need, such as pubs and shops.
On arrival, step up onto the entrance deck and head inside to the elegant open-plan living and sleeping areas. The curved ceiling, wood-clad walls and country-cottage kitchen create a welcoming and homely feel. After days out exploring, relax on the sumptuous sofa and gather around the dining table to share meals. A double bed provides a restful spot for grown-ups, with full-sized bunk beds at the rear for children. If needed, you can also convert the sofa for an additional guest. A modern shower room completes the accommodation. Outside, you’ll have a patio space for sipping coffee at sunrise, along with a picturesque enclosed garden, with a lawn, charcoal BBQ and fire pit. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
You can set off for lovely riverside walks straight from the doorstep – no need for the car – perhaps join the Crumbly Lancashire Cheese Trail, which passes the site and follows the River Wyre and historic canal. Beacon Fell Country Park (5.5 miles) has 271 acres of woodland, moorland and farmland with views across the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. More spectacular scenery awaits in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape (17.5 miles).
