Sleeping just two guests, the one-bedroom glamping abode, which is 3.5 miles from Newark, comes with its own platform from which you can enjoy a wild swim or spot of fishing. Explore the countryside, venture into the bustling market town or simply savour the serenity of the site.

Take four steps up from your private patio to find yourselves in your exquisitely finished accommodation. A creatively arranged and beautifully decorated, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, this embraces everything you will require for exceptional comfort throughout your stay. Take turns at rustling up delicious meals for each other in the kitchen, which even has space for an oven. Make fresh coffee in the machine, then carry it out into the sunshine. There is a breakfast bar where you can sit down to your delicious meals and lose yourselves in the scenic lakeside views as you dine. When you are ready to rest your head on your pillow, your comfortable double bed, with its Egyptian cotton bedding, is ready and waiting at one end of the hut. You also have the luxury of a shower room within the retreat. Open a bottle of chilled wine to enjoy out on the patio on summer evenings. Stroll down to the lake to launch your paddleboard or simply dip your feet in the cool water on hot days. There is private, off-road parking for two cars with this shepherd’s hut.

Head into Newark to wander beside the River Trent and see the castle ruins. Shop in the marketplace, dine out in a local pub or restaurant and visit the air museum. Newark is famous for its antiques and crafts events. Venture 23.5 miles away for a day out in Sherwood Forest.

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Enjoyed eating out at the Riverside pub that was recommended in their leaflet. Enjoyed the trail through the woodland on site.. Really appreciated the fire put too.

Its amazing! Everything we need is available. The view outside is perfect. So calm and peaceful would definitely comeback..
