This lovely shepherd’s hut is located on an animal sanctuary just outside the market town of Raunds. In the peaceful setting you’ll have views of the fields with rescued horses, and have the opportunity of an hour’s guided tour to meet the sanctuary’s variety of happy, safe animals and even feed them treats. In Raunds you’ll find a great choice of pubs, places to eat and local shops, plus a swimming pool and sports centre. Warth Park Country Park is just 1 mile away, while Stanwick Lakes is 4 miles distant, where 7 miles of scenic paths wind their way through 750 acres of open space. Four further country parks are all within 15 miles, and both Titchmarsh Nature Reserve and Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve are within 8 miles. Golfers will want to try the course at Rushden (4.5 miles), and England’s third-largest reservoir, Grafham Water, is 14 miles away.
Take the four steps up to the front door and enter this little gem of a rural escape, compact but full of home comforts. In the open-plan living space you’ll have a sweet little kitchen area which includes a two-ring hob, fridge and microwave – the perfect size for whipping up delicious snacks and simple meals. There’s a cosy dining area with cushioned bench seating, which converts easily into a pull-down double bed, and the whole hut is warmed by a wood burner-effect electric stove, making it super-cosy at any time of the year. Completing this cute-as-can-be space is an en-suite shower room with a hot and cold shower and proper flushing WC.
When you want to sit outside and bask in the sunshine, breathe in the fresh air or enjoy watching the stars in the night sky, head out into your enclosed garden, where there’s a patio dining set ready and waiting for outdoor drinks or meals. The hut has private parking for one car.
