The cabin boasts an open-plan layout with a fully equipped kitchen, dining, and cosy lounge area, complete with a TV and wood burner for chilly nights. The bathroom offers a steam shower and all the essentials, while the private spa garden at the back features a wood-fired hot tub and infrared sauna. At the end of the day, retreat to the connected pod, where a king-size bed and blackout blinds ensure a restful night's sleep.

Set in picturesque Thompson, this lodge getaway is surrounded by miles of off-road walking trails, including the Peddars Way and Pingo Trail. Discover the serene beauty of Thompson Water (1 mile), a haven for birdwatching and wildlife enthusiasts. The lodge's 32-acre setting is just a mile off-road, offering easy access to the expansive Thetford Forest (10 miles) and its network of biking routes.

Looking for a lodge in the woods? Well to get to this lodge, you need to travel through the woods to get there. The road is a bit bumpy so don't be in a hurry! Not to close to the next lodge, we found our little hideaway for a few days. Firefly Lodge was like a small home from home. The USP apart from the location is the infra red sauna and wood fiRead morered hot tub. The sauna and hot tub are in a completely enclosed garden so you can feel free to chill out on the surprisingly comfortable rocking sun loungers after your sauna whilst waiting for the hot tub to get to temperature (approx 2.5 hrs). You get enough wood for one session in the hot tub. Please enquire about getting further supplies. For people looking for a spiritual experience, there is a stone circle which had a positive feel when I went for a walk around. There are goats and horses in the fields next to the lodges, which may come close but we found they were too busy grazing to bother about us. The only negative points would be that the bedroom is not attached to the main lodge so for toilet visiting during the night, you need to go through the enclosed garden to get to the main lodge and bathroom. Luckily no rain whilst we were there! For the negative points we did conclude this was a lovely find and we would consider re-visiting in the future. Hide

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The place was deserted when we arrived, however check-in was an easy call to the host. The hot tub and sauna were lovely and the natural pool was worth braving! The place was quiet and great for a relaxing few days. Very dog friendly.

The Firefly Spa Lodge was wonderful. We had a great break and it was great to unwind. The facilities are kept very clean and tidy, well equipped and because of that, we had a very comfortable stay. Unfortunately, we didn't realise that things included in our stay were chargeable once there, for example: gas for the fire pit, logs for the hot tub Read moreafter it's first use. (These facilities were included in our booking.) This was not a cheap break, so I genuinely feel this should be included, even if it bumps up the price a little more. Another thing that disappointed us was unavailability of the Forage and Fire restaurant and the treatments for the spa. This resulted in us booking massage treatments with a local therapist off site. When we stayed, it wasn't particularly busy, so perhaps we booked dates that nothing was available on? The food in the Bistro was fairly pricey, but it was delicious, fresh and the service was fantastic. The horses and goats approach the lodges and they are very well behaved. It really is a peaceful setting and we felt totally safe there too. I would highly recommend paying the local pubs and restaurants a visit. I would also suggest doing some of the walking trails, we thoroughly enjoyed them. Hide
