This former whaler’s cottage has been sympathetically extended and beautifully fitted out to provide quirky accommodation that’s both comfortable and stylish. There are a few steps to change levels inside the house, but it’s all basically single storey. Tastefully kitted out and with lots of light, it’s a really calming space, and the wood burner in the lounge makes it cosy in cooler months. The outside space is just as tantalising, with a furnished summer house to the front of the property. To the rear, through the French doors from the kitchen, there’s an intimate paved area that’s furnished, and an upper terrace accessed by some steps where you can enjoy countryside views. There’s off-road parking for one car, too, so loading and unloading need not be a hassle.
With a pub 100 metres from your holiday cottage, you can enjoy a drink or meal out as a treat. The vibrant market town of Bridport is just 2.5 miles, while Lyme Regis is 6 miles away with its famous cobb and harbour and hilly streets. Being so close to the sea, it’s the Jurassic coastline that’s the main attraction so you can hop from resort to resort up and down the coast, or even grab the dog leads and walk sections of the celebrated South West Coast Path, which is within 1 mile of this former whaler’s cottage.
