Up to four adults and two dogs can escape to the countryside, staying in this well-equipped lodge on a small complex in the grounds of a Georgian country house. Offering peace and quiet, this idyllic setting makes the ideal base for one couple or group of friends to stay and explore this rural area in the Fens.
The interior of this lodge is a generous open-plan living space, with the lounge area by the French doors to the patio. Behind and to the side of this large room is the dining table, easily seating four, and the well-equipped kitchen. The sleeping accommodation comprises one master double with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom, that has use of the family bathroom. There’s a general bright and airy feel, with tasteful decor in neutral and earthy tones, modern furnishings and clean lines and finishes. Outside, you can step onto your enclosed patio, complete with a seating area to take in the verdant views and the private hot tub tucked away around the side.
There’s plenty of relaxing to be done right at your home from home, with the hot tub calling from the patio where you can sit and relish the peace and wildlife. Nestled on the Norfolk-Cambridgeshire border, you can take your pick where to head for adventure. King’s Lynn is 20 miles north, while the royal park of Sandringham (25 miles) is also open to the public. Downham Market (7 miles) is a pretty market town on the River Great Ouse that dates originally to Saxon times; it still holds markets and is a great place to enjoy a holiday wander and to stock up. If you’re feeling active, or fancy a change in topography, there’s miles of walking and cycling tracks in Thetford Forest (23 miles).
