Inside, the cabin welcomes you with an open-plan kitchen/diner and a cosy living area, perfect for enjoying family meals or romantic dinners. The lounge, with its comfortable seating, is an ideal spot to unwind, whether you're watching TV or enjoying a gentle summer breeze from the patio. The property features two bedrooms: a bunk room tailored for children and a snug double bedroom with ample storage. A bathroom with a bubble bath and an overhead shower completes the interior, offering a perfect blend of comfort and practicality. The location of the cabin is superb, nestled in amongst the mature oak, beech, holly and pine trees. We saw and heard nuthatches and jays every day because we put out nuts on the front bird table. The greedy wood pigeons could not access these though they kept trying. We would love to have seen red squirrels but only saw greys. The path lights ofteRead moren came on in the middle of the night but don't know what creatures set them off. On two occasions, low flying jets and also a Hercules briefly shattered the tranquility and skimmed the trees doing their low flying exercises. The grandchildren enjoyed the pool and table tennis table facilities. Ambleside and Windermere were very accessible and Skelwith Bridge and the waterfall were only a short walk away. Parking in Ambleside was a challenge particularly for shopping at Tesco. I would love to visit again in the furure. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay, the site is located in a fantastic area and we found the site to be nice and peaceful. The cabin was clean and comfortable, although it was snug and quite compact. The welcome basket of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk was really appreciated. We would definitely return in the future.

Echo the other comments. The gift basket was a really nice touch and the shortbread biscuits were delicious as well as the Welsh tea which may be my new go to for Tea. The cottage is beautiful and well kept. Stay was perfect. Thank you guys!

Had a wonderful week away in this perfect cozy cabin! It was spotless, warm and comfortable. Lovely touch of tea, coffee and biscuits. The location is perfect for walks. We had a fantastic week! Id highly recommend.

What an amazing find! So well equipped , furnished well and very comfortable. The owner was very responsive when contacted - even on Christmas Day. The location was perfect with a 20 minute lovely walk that takes you to a waterfall in one direction or a pub in the other. The path up to the property is not suitable for people who have difficulty waRead morelking (I think this is mentioned in other reviews). Hide

The location is perfect with easy access to everywhere within the national park. The cottage was clean and well maintained but we found the bed very uncomfortable and the lack of storage space for our two week stay a problem. Any potential holiday makers should be aware that access to the lodge would be very problematic for any elderly or disabled Read moreguests. We were very much looking forward to enjoying the pool area but after days out it was closed by the time we got back with a 6.30 closing. Hide

Lovely cottage in a wonderful location. Loved the balcony area. The swimming pool was welcome on the warm days and spotlessly clean. Kitchen had everything needed. Thank you for the biscuits!

We had an amazing week at Tarn Howes. Lovely compact cabin and a nice park with use of a swimming pool (free) and sauna (at a small charge). Great walks from the cabin Loughrigg Tarn and Elter Water only a short walk away. We were really pleased with the cabin, would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Tarn Hows. The log cabin is in a beautiful location. The cabin was very clean, cosy, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and the beds were so comfy! It was a great base for exploring the lake district and we enjoyed a couple of the walks from the site, suggested in the welcome book. The pool areq waRead mores ideal for my son (7) especially in the wet weather. The steps up to the cabin are quite steep but my 2 yr old was a lento manage them! Hide

Very comfortable lodge in a great location. Well equipped, cosy and warm. There are a number of good walks/hikes that can be commenced from the lodge - which is convenient if you dont want to drive everywhere. The pool/jacuzzi were welcomed after long hikes! Nice welcoming touches such as biscuits/chocolate and coffee! Will be booking again.

Lodge is beautifully fitted out and in a wonderful location. The little touches were very welcome.
