Perfectly positioned between Morpeth and Alnwick, it’s an ideal holiday escape for couples and small families looking to reconnect with nature, and you can even bring two dogs along for the adventure. Soak up the fresh, countryside air from the comfort of the decked terrace, where a sunken hot tub awaits to soothe tired muscles after a day of exploring the beautiful Northumberland surroundings.

The heart of this home-from-home is the bright and airy open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner, where wooden cladding reflects the natural beauty outside. Picture windows flood the space with sunlight and frame delightful lakeside views, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. After a day of adventure, two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin, offer peaceful retreats. The property also features a contemporary family shower room. This cabin is a fantastic base for exploring Northumberland's treasures. The iconic Alnwick Castle and Gardens, offering centuries of heritage, are just 14 miles away. For wildlife enthusiasts, the coastal town of Amble is only 11 miles away, where you can take boat trips to Coquet Island to spot puffins and seals at the RSPB Seabird Sanctuary. If you fancy a day by the sea, the golden sands of Druridge Bay Beach can be reached within 8 miles, perfect for coastal adventurers.

Lovely stay in a simple and sweet cabin. Well maintained and clean. Comfortable sofas and beds. Lovely lakeside location. We could watch the beautiful swans (with their cygnets) and lots of other ducks and birds. The hot tub was excellent to unwind in and watch the sun set and enjoy nature. Beautiful location, peaceful, lovely to hear birds singing. Good to have little shop and Crazy Horse bar and grill on site. Only downside was no Welcome folder, explaining facilities in the cottage and on site (like bins), no fans (as weather was hot), could be more variety of pots and fans and hoover didnt work. Otherwise we loved our stay

It was very disappointing and not worth the money. It needs a good clean and some maintenance doing especially in the bathroom with the shower tray leaking and sink coming away from the wall. Also it needs a hoover that works and some cleaning products. There is also a smell of sewage outside

Would not book this place again. After booking it as a short stopover on our way back from a couple of weeks in Scotland, this was a real dampener on the rest of our holiday. Cleanliness was poor, we found old sweets under the sofa, loads of cobwebs and the bathroom had a wet towel in the shower so unclear if this had even been cleaned. Whilst tRead morehere was a welcome pack and milk in the fridge, there was no toilet roll - a basic amenity to expect. The cups on the cupboard also seemed dirty and so we did not use. The shower was also poor and flooded quickly and there seems to be some kind of wasp nest around the hot tub so we didnt venture in. All in all would not recommend this place. We were only stopping for the weekend but shortened our stay by 1 night because of just preferring to be home than stay in the accommodation another night. Did not contact owner due to brevity of stay but were incredibly disappointed given the other accommodation weve stayed at whilst away. Hide

We had a great time at Chestnut Lodge. A perfect location for exploring beautiful Northumberland. Chestnut has everything you need for a wonderful family stay and some extra special touches that we really appreciated. A fantastic trip.

The cottage is in a good location and the site offers nice facilities with play park and the crazy horse bar. However the cottage itself is very tired, there was a smell of stale urine throughout the cottage that lingered for the whole holiday. The sofas are very low down so tricky to get off / out of and the cushions were covered in dog hairs. TheRead more shower almost flooded when used for longer than a few minutes which when you need to wash 2 kids was tricky plus water temp was not consistent and often went very cold all of a sudden. Outside decking was covered in bird poo but there were sparrows nesting in the porch which was nice to see but also a little uncomfortable to sit amongst. Not sure it was worth the money we paid. Up on arrival the cabin was not clean, where I had to buy products to do a through clean before my family and I was able to relax, the kettle had water left in it and full of limescale, didn't like the carpet for hygiene reasons specifically with having it as a dog friendly Lodge, that is another thing if depending on ur dog they can squessze throuRead moregh the spindles on enclose or jump the rail which is a shame as we cud nt let our dogs out unless we took them out on lead, it unfortunately wasn't worth what we paid, such a shame as lodge so sweet and lovely, just needs money putting in to it and a good clean, the site was lovely but because of hygiene and the stale urine smell in bathroom we didn't find it relaxing, we spent most of time out of lodge, lucky we had lovely weather. Lovely location, great hot-tub, cosy lodge. Had a few little niggles like the shower temperature being a bit temperamental and a broken hoover but nothing that ruined the holiday. We all had a great time.
