Find pure tranquillity at this sophisticated yet homely family-friendly lodge surrounded by the Felmoor Country Park, the ultimate peaceful retreat for anyone looking to escape to the Northumbrian countryside. Located between Morpeth and Alnwick, Felmoor Country Park boasts a clubhouse and restaurant on-site, perfect for keeping the whole family entertained. Those looking to answer the call of the sea can explore the three miles of soft golden sand and rugged dunes of Druridge Bay Beach 8 miles away whilst keen coastal explorers can head to nearby Amble 11 miles away to board a boat trip to spot puffins and seals along the journey to Coquet Island, an RSPB seabird sanctuary home to a 36,000-bird colony a mile off the coast. Dive into some rich local history at the iconic Alnwick Castle 14 miles away, the second largest inhabited castle in the UK.

Beneath the cabin-style exterior, you’ll find a haven of charm in the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this home-from-home. The contemporary neutral colour palette perfectly complements the countryside views whilst the cosy electric fire sets a truly warming ambience that beckons tired travellers to unwind and dine with loved ones. During the summer months, throw open the large set of patio doors to relax to the soothing sounds of the surrounding country park. There are two bedrooms on offer, one double and one twin, that both feature lovely views to wake up to as well as extra-special homely touches that set the scene for pure relaxation. From sunrise to sunset, the contemporary family bathroom provides everything you need to feel refreshed.

Outside, make the most of your stunningly serene scenery by slipping into the sunken hot tub, the ultimate antidote for weary walking muscles, or by dining alfresco with a glass of something chilled on the decked terrace. Overall a nice clean property which makes a good base to visit all the great locations nearby. The property feels a little dated and lacked a few things such as a hoover (needed when you've got dogs with you!), an organised welcome pack and the water temp in the shower was either scalding hot or freezing. The outside decking and furntiure were fullRead more of cobwebs which was a shame as it would have been nice to sit out there in the sunshine. We feel like it wouldn't take much tweaking for this to be a really great holiday property in a fantastic location. Hide
