Set within a 180-acre country park, this charming lodge offers a peaceful holiday retreat with an 18-hole golf course, walking and cycling routes, enclosed dog park, children's play area, and tennis courts all available on-site. Sleeping four guests and two dogs, this is the perfect accommodation for couples or small families planning adventures across Northumberland’s rugged coastline and historic countryside. If you can tear yourselves away from the on-site facilities, head to the delightful village of Newton-on-the-Moor (1.5 miles) to uncover a welcoming pub, local cafes, and a large children’s play area. Enjoy a day trip to Warkworth Castle with its riverside walks and beach (8.5 miles), uncover the region’s history with a visit to Alnwick Castle and Gardens (9 miles), or embrace coastal splendour and rounds of golf in Alnmouth (9 miles).
Before stepping inside this charming property, take a moment to appreciate its wood-clad exterior and surrounding greenery, which set the scene for a peaceful lodge stay. Step into an airy open-plan living space that’s flooded in natural light and combines the lounge, kitchen and diner. Settle in the lounge space after days of coastal adventure, flicking on the Smart TV as you sink into the comfy furnishings. Swin open the French doors here to let the salty sea air flow through. When stomachs rumble, find that the well-equipped kitchen boasts everything needed for a self-catered stay. Gather at the window-side dining table to enjoy the chef’s work or dine alfresco out on the balcony when the weather permits. At the end of each busy day away, retire to a choice of two restful bedrooms – a master double and a cosy twin room – served by a well-appointed family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. A separate cloakroom/WC completes the interior.

Outside, the accommodation boasts a wrap-around balcony with two seating areas overlooking a duck pond with woodland views beyond – offering the perfect spot for peaceful morning brews and al fresco evening meals. Shared on-site facilities include an 18-hole golf course, a tennis court, children’s play area with picnic tables, and an enclosed dog walking area. Would highly recommend The Betsy. Great place to stay very well equipped and spotlessly clean. I would certainly recommend a stay here. We had the advantage of having great weather and the wrap around deck was a great place to relax

We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge. It was lovely, in a beautiful spot and definitely located in the best part of the park. It was also respectful and nice to see that just because we have a furry family, the standards aren't dropped in a pet friendly accommodation. We love Northumberland, it's just stunning wherever you look. It was clean andRead more furnished beautifully with good quality furnishings The sofa, chair & beds were all super comfy. The shower was fab. Being able to sit out on the verandah when the sun was out was a treat & enjoy the fresh air in the park. Easy to find , located in Swarland which was a beautiful little village, lovely pet friendly pub nearby called the Cook & Barker , had an AMAZING Sunday dinner and a lovely tea there. Unfortunately never got to sample the food in the coast & country , it ran out of food but we did have a lovely breakfast at Nelsons in the park. It was really cold when we first arrived, but the heating literally only took minutes to warm the lodge through. We were then lucky to have a few days of sun. Have made a couple of recommendations re duvet covers we felt were too thin for the time of year & a microwave upgrade, but what a fab place. We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge and would definitely go back, it's inspired us to investigate lodges ourselves. Hide
