Tucked away in the scenic North Yorkshire countryside, Malton (3.5 miles) is a delightful village that showcases the best of rural England and the food capital of Yorkshire. The Howardian Hills (2.5 miles), a National Landscape, offers rolling hills, winding trails, and stunning views. If you enjoy all of those things but with a touch of history, you'll find it at Castle Howard (5 miles).

This contemporary lodge is uniquely positioned sideways to offer sweeping views of the lake and its picturesque fountain. Upon entering, you'll find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/lounge area, where no expense has been spared. The lounge is furnished with high-end pieces of furniture for maximum comfort, and includes a Smart TV and a stunning view of the lake from the sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary amenities and on the same floor, there are two bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and the other with twin beds. Both bedrooms are decorated with contemporary touches and provide ample storage space for your convenience. The family bathroom features a large walk-in shower, a WC, and a convenient LED-lit mirror.

The outside area of this lodge is just as impressive as the interior. The expansive decking wraps around the entire lodge, positioned right on the lakeside, offering direct access to the wonderful views and relaxing moments. Equipped with comfortable outdoor seating, the decking is perfect for enjoying evenings as you watch the sunset over the water. The fountain in the lake serves as a stunning centrepiece, adding to the overall beauty and ambience of the lodge.

most lacking was the code necessary to get through the entrance barrier. After some time we managed to get through as another owner turned up and let us in and gave us the code. I think something that should be considered is a spare key to the lodge. The key safe, like all types, is fiddly to store and access the key and a dropped key could easilyRead more fall through the gaps in the decking and then I have no idea what one would do. I have already sent u this today as a complaint. Since sending I have found out that Ian is no longer the owner and Prestige own it now. I have contacted them today and they getting back to me on Monday as they dont know who owns it. It would make sense as it had not been cleaned beds not made up and very basic inside. Hi Ian We are leaviRead moreng later today but I need to tell you of the things we were not happy about as we have stayed in many lodges and not had any problems and always gave good reviews but unfortunately not with yours. We arrived to find the double bed was not made up and the bedding was screwed up not ironed on the bed. I did tell you would be using both bedrooms as we have health problems and do not sleep together hence booking 2 bedroom lodge. I rang you to ask how you work the smart tv as there are no instructions and we never used one before and just wanted normal television. You never replied. My son rang the following day and he talked me through it. The glass on the shower had not been cleaned and the blind and towel rail were very dusty as was blind in the kitchen. The shower needs a bath mat in it so elderly people like us do not fall. We were frightened of having a shower luckily we took my disabled shower chair so we used that. It would be useful to have a cutting board to save the worktops getting scratched. There was no information regarding where empty bins but we found out off other residents. The guttering at both ends of lodge do not reach floor so when it rained it was dripping a lot so difficult at night to sleep. We had to buy bottled water because when we made a cup of tea it tasted awful. Last but not least I have just swept round as no hoover and was appalled at the dirt from the double bedroom. I have a bad heart so cannot give much pressure to the brush as get out of breath but took photo of the dirt for you to see and as you can see there are dog hairs and we have no dog. Seems to be sand too and we never went to a beach. Suggest you leave a hoover for your client to clean up after themselves. I have always been thanked for leaving the property I have been in clean. We are clean people so we expect properties we pay good money for to be clean. The windows and the barriers on the decking are full of spider and spiders webs too. It wasnt a pleasant experience . The mattress was extremely uncomfortable with almost no padding the springs in the mattress were digging in to us, to the point where we had to go and buy a mattress topper. The smoke alarm was covered in foil, which my husband removed. The gas boiler check is over due. The overall cleanliness of the accommodatiRead moreon wasnt up to standards that we expected.The external windows need a clean. We moved the coffee table slightly to make access easier as I have mobility requirements so I could use the sofa and discovered a plastic drinks bottle, with discarded cigarette butts in it, which had obviously been there for some time. In summary, we are extremely disappointed with our stay which we were looking forward to and according to the reviews online. especially the safety issues with the smoke detector being covered, the boiler inspection being out of date and the overall standard of cleanliness in the property. We had an amazing time at Waterlily Lodge. The property was spotless and incredibly well stocked. The outside decking was amazing with the added comfort of the large parasol for shade. Great comfy beds and inside seating. WiFi was spot on and the smart tv was great. Loved everything about it and we have already booked for next year.

If you want peace and quiet this is the site for you, however you need transport to do anything as there is hardly anything close by.
