Step inside this charming lakeside pod to find a cosy retreat. The curved, warm wood walls and well-chosen furnishings create a welcoming atmosphere. The open-plan living space is thoughtfully designed with a kitchenette featuring a two-ring gas hob, mini sink, and fridge, alongside a small double bed for a restful night's sleep. The shower room with a basin and WC completes the charming interior. Outside, unwind in the stunning wood-fired hot tub, dine alfresco at the table and chairs on the decking, or toast marshmallows over the fire pit under a starlit sky. The lake right outside your door makes this a truly magical setting and provides the chance to wildlife-watch. For those seeking relaxation, the owner offers rejuvenating yoga lessons on your private deck.

Located just 10 miles south, the picturesque Lanhydrock House awaits with its magnificent Victorian charm and lush gardens. For coastal adventures, the dramatic beach of Crackington Haven is approximately 8 miles away, perfect for surfing and sunbathing. With its combination of rugged beauty and convenient access to nearby attractions, Bodmin Moor (12 miles) is an ideal destination for a holiday filled with exploration and natural wonder.

We stayed for a short honeymoon, we had an amazing time! Right from the start Neil was helpful and welcoming and the hot pasties that greeted us on arrival were amazing! The parking was easy to find as long as you get the right What Three Words and the trip through the fields in his pickup was a blessing, its a long walk with bags otherwiRead morese! The shepherds hut was clean and comfortable with enough room for two people to stay in. The bed was SO cosy, we thought we might struggle in a small double but we had some of the best sleep in a while! Neil was very friendly and talked us through everything, the complimentary bottle of bubbles and a card to congratulate us on our wedding was a lovely touch too. The hot tub and fire pit are amazing, although Id get more logs than you think youll need. We got through two bags heating the hot tub and keeping the fire pit going at night! We had an amazing time on the Saturday night making smores over the fire pit and watching the stars, we even saw a shooting star! In all, a lovely relaxing stay. The only observation we had was maybe an outside shower would be nice for showering before and after the hot tub. Tom and Steff. Hide

Poor facilities, electricity on and off when hot tub used , was advised we had over used the jets in hot tub causing the battery to run low, there should be no restriction on usage as this was the reason we had booked the pod . Battery ran out in night causing food waste, gas ran out so no hot shower , bed going through floor, pod off grid so cant Read morereach the owners unless you walk up two fields , ( up hill ) get in your car and drive to find reception, owner contacted to advise of all the above although very nice was very defensive of the complaints Hide

The area is very quiet and really a place to disconnect and relax. The kitchen appliances are more than enough so is the rest of the cottage. The owner is very friendly and helpful, he welcomed us very warmly. If you are looking for a place to recharge, this is it!

The lodge was absolutely perfect for what we wanted - a secluded, quiet Christmas. Hidden in the depths of Cornwall, yet easy to get to. Isolated, yet connected. Stargazing from the hot tub on Christmas Eve with nothing but the sound of nature surrounding us was bliss. The hosts, Neil & family, were so lovely and even had Cornish Pasties freshlRead morey baked for us upon arrival and had pre-heated the hot tub. We even got topped up with a fresh battery and diesel and left bottled water (with the uncertainty of the freezing cold Christmas weather affecting the taps - which it didn't!). We also had a little mishap on Christmas Day lunchtime, leaving us outside in the cold, but Neil had it fixed and us back in the lodge in no time at all. The lift to and from the car park (extremely easy to find on Google/Apple maps if you follow the 'what3words' directions) was also very appreciated. The walk to and from the car was not long at all, through 2 fields (hilly), but even in the icy cold, we were fine. Wellies were a must, though! The cabin was also equipped with a fan heater system, which was brilliant and made the lodge very warm, very quickly; however, the cabin did not retain any heat, so it needed to be on almost constantly during our stay. The hot tub was easy to use, and with it being pre-heated, we used less than half a bag of logs, keeping it warm throughout our 2-night stay. The cabin was also well-equipped with basic items such as a kettle (& tea and coffee),frying pan, saucepan, crockery, cutlery, etc. However, if staying during a cold period, then I would recommend bringing extra towels and being prepared to take damp clothes home with you, as there is no way of drying them properly (hooks in the bathroom, but it's cold in there as the heating system doesn't reach the bathroom). Our dog also loved her stay, but note that there are Whippets on the farm that race each other around (we were told about them upon arrival). Our only real downsides (despite our chaotic but quickly resolved door failure!) were little things that may be personal thoughts such as lack of shelving/space for things (e.g. nowhere to put plates to serve cooked food onto after cooking - at least if trying to do inside like we were due to the cold!), the bed/mattress could do with being replaced, and it not being as isolated/secluded as the pictures make out - luckily for us there was nobody else staying at the other lodge, but the other lodge is directly opposite this one and therefore neither lodge would have any privacy if parties staying in each one. I would recommend this lodge, but be aware that this is very much Glamping and not a typical holiday lodge - there are homely comforts, but I wouldn't call it a 'home away from home'. Ideal for how we used it (a 'weekend' secluded, isolated, 'off-grid' phones off, time with nature, holiday) but perhaps not a longer stay might be a tad uncomfortable, especially in the winter! Just make sure to wear your wellies and coats! Hide

We stayed there on the 27th for 2nights. Neil and his wife were lovely. Met us with pasties.....which were lovely by the way. Neil was very informative. And on hand if we needed him. Will definately be recommending. Love it just what we needed.

Beautiful location, felt like a little peace of heaven. We were looking for isolation and we got exactly that. The owners were friendly, we even got some tasty home baked Cornish pasties upon arrival. Hot tub was easy to operate and the pod was cosy and well equipped. Definitely will be returning to this little hidden gem.

We had a lovely stay at the retreat. The homemade pastys on arrival were 'ansome. It's a really beautiful location, we spent the time watching the wildlife from the thousands of frogletts leaving the lake to the stream to the brief nightly visit of a kingfisher. It really is a magical place, under the oak tree and next to the stream. The owner was Read morelovely and very accommodating. The only thing we didn't like was leaving! A comfortable and well equipped glamping pod, equipped with all of the essentials, in a beautiful setting for some much needed down time in nature. The surrounding area is beautiful, quiet and private. The hot tub was excellent to have and to relax in after a day full of exploring- just bring along your own wood, kindling and fire starters as you wRead moreill need this to keep the heat topped up during your stay. Beautiful location, really lovely cabin. Hot tub was amazing, stunning views, loved the lake and siting on the decking. So peaceful. Slight improvements would make this even better but overall thoroughly enjoyed it and would stay again.

A lovely weekend retreat - so peaceful!! Excellent hosts - extremely attentive and kind. The hot tub was preheated for us and it was very relaxing - only sounds were us, wildlife and the stream behind the pod. The fairy lights make it very romantic too!
