Arrived to a very cold property and very trick heaters to work to get anywhere near warm, in addition no hot water. Woke the following morning to a freezing cold lodge and then a four of us had to endure cold showers including my 82-year-old mother in law and 13 year old daughter!! Both the heating and the hot water are controlled remotely by theRead more owner!! Called owner with no joy, contacted holiday cottages who eventually came back to us that a new system had been put in and had failed and had to be restarted! Eventually got hold of the owner after a number of calls and messages, she was apologetic but continued to stress that the electric bill were 'astronomical' due to customer leaving heating on! Very much profit over happy customers and a real draconian way of controlling the lodge heating! Day 3&4 we had heating and hot water, but the how water was not enough for four showers and to do the morning washing up The lodge has a lovely batch which can only be fractionally filled with the hot water system! Not a pleasant experience and certainly wouldnt use again!! Hide

We enjoyed our stay at Pumpkin Lodge although the weather could have been better, it gave us the rest and relaxation we were looking for, and you can't order the weather when you book the Lodge!

We had a lovely stay at the Lodge. No issues, so no need for us to get in touch with the owners. The only gripe we have is that the couch is not comfortable. Aside from that it is in a lovely peaceful setting, with everything we needed for our stay.
