Wake up to birdsong and big-sky views at this spacious glamping lodge on a working farm in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, just 0.5 miles from Talybont-on-Usk. It’s a brilliant choice for families or a group of friends who love the freedom of the outdoors without the faff of pitching tents. After a day exploring canal towpaths or mountain trails, you can return to warmth and comfort under canvas, sink into a private wood-fired hot tub, and share stories around the fire pit. Thoughtful touches and an easy-going layout make this a laid-back base where you can slow down together.
Inside, timber floors and a relaxed country style set a calm tone. The open-plan living space is made for unwinding, with a large corner sofa gathered around a crackling wood burner and a dining area perfect for long suppers. The simple kitchen keeps things effortless, while three sleeping spaces include a double room, a twin, and a quirky indoor cabin bed for two reached via a short ladder. Soft blankets, gentle lighting and sturdy bedsteads add to the cosy feel. Step outside to find a separate Pitch Pod with a shower, basin and WC, plus a fire pit with a BBQ grill for sociable cooking. The private, wood-fired hot tub, tucked to one side of the lodge, brings a special finish to evenings under the stars. There is ample private parking.
You’re well placed to enjoy this landscape at your own pace. Wander the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal towpath in Talybont-on-Usk or set out for bigger adventures across the Beacons. Hire bikes in the village, take a relaxing trip along the canal or even potter by boat. For younger guests, Cantref Adventure Farm (4 miles) is a favourite for animal encounters and pony rides.
