This cute lodge is ideal for a family or group of friends looking for a tranquil country escape. It is set within extensive grounds that are shared with two other holiday lets within the owner's property. The traditional little village of Sheepwash is half a mile away down quiet country lanes. Here you will find thatched cottages and pretty country gardens, as well as a village shop and a pub dating back to the 16th century. For a little more hustle and bustle head to the old market town of Great Torrington 8 miles away. Along its streets, you'll find a good range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Dartmoor National Park is around 15 miles from Sheepwash with its many rugged trails beckoning walkers to explore. For a day on the beach set your sights on the sandy, surf-friendly beach of Westward Ho! 19 miles away on the beautiful North Devon Coast.

This wooden-clad lodge is accessed via a gravel path with two steps up to the front door. Once inside you'll find a spacious open-plan living area with a comfortable lounge featuring a wood burner for cooler nights. The compact kitchen/diner has plenty of space to prepare delicious Devonshire meals and a breakfast bar for dining on. From here double doors lead out to the deck. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and glazed doors leading to a private deck. The two remaining bedrooms are snug, wood-panelled single rooms and all three bedrooms share access to the ample family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The outside areas are generous making the most of the tranquil rural setting. The large deck off of the kitchen and living room is set up with a table and chairs. This is the spot for enjoying the peace and quiet and sharing family meals in the fresh air. Guests staying at the lodge also have access to a covered and heated swimming pool along with a further patio area with seating. There are also gardens and a nature pond, all of which are shared with the other guests staying at the two additional holiday lets within the grounds.

Beautiful lodge in a picturesque location. We had a lovely warm welcome from Sarah who made us feel at home, the swimming pool was lovely and clean and our 9 year old son loved being able to swim every day. The lodge has everything you need and more we would definitely visit again .

The Lodge is in a nice location albeit a little remote and was a reasonable drive for most amenities. The Lodge could be cleaner, the place is dominated by spiders and dead flies but after we gave it a clean on the first day it was quite comfortable. Unfortunately the Male owner is not very friendly and refuses to aknowledge you unless forced. We wRead moreere unceremoniously told that the Pool closes at 7pm, it was 6:49pm and we were already getting out of the pool he then told me the door should be kept shut and then closed it in my face. I only opened the door to leave so I'm not sure what he expected us to do. On the final morning we were packing the car and the dog was yapping constantly while we packed, we werent bothered by the barking but the female owner came out and told us that we were distressing the dog by standing there, at that point I just smiled and finished packing the car. Sadly the owners let this place down and we can't reccomend it, the pool is great but thats probably the only redeeming feature. Hide

Lovely cottage we especially liked having the use of the heated swimming pool. Nice rural location. The welcome package of home cooked scones was a bonus.
