Property code: OC-BC1000

Set high above the historic market of Totnes and boasting superb views across the River Dart, this cosy two-person lodge is an idyllic escape for beach-goers and countryside wanderers. Inside, the cabin is eclectic, with a gorgeous enclosed garden, a peaceful hammock and a quirky roll-top bath that's perched on the decking. It’s overflowing with charm in the best possible way!

Enter this single-storey property and be wowed by the open-plan lounge/diner. Every turn has a unique feature, from the rustic wood panelling to the quirky furnishings, which makes it all the more appealing. All the furniture is pointed towards the French doors, so kicking back on the sofa means you can enjoy the views at the same time. Watch films on the TV before using the compact yet functional kitchen to whip up a cosy meal for two and enjoy indoors or outdoors. This kitsch base continues with a comfortable bedroom, with access to the decking and a contemporary en-suite shower room. Spend lots of time out on the decking, with a long soak in the feature roll-top bath or get stuck into a good book while swinging away in the hammock.

The property reflects Totnes’ artistic spirit, which you can admire in detail when you make your way into town to experience its bohemian atmosphere and independent shops. There’s also an 11th-century castle to visit. Head to the wild, rugged beauty of Dartmoor National Park (8 miles), where the scenery is breathtaking, and the hiking routes are endless. You’ll have the best of both worlds, as you can also venture down to the seaside for a lovely afternoon at Blackpool Sands, Paignton, Torquay and Brixham, which are all within 19 miles.

I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful retreat. The Cabin is a nice secluded hideaway, and a short walk from Totnes the walk only taking 5 minutes or so with lovely views. The cabin itself is cosy and well thought out everything you need and nothing you don't. The Lavazza coffee machine was a welcome touch, and the outdoor bathtub on the deRead morecking is a great idea. Just a shame I never got to use it due to the rather wet weather. The views are stunning across the Dart valley and upto the moors, and the veranda is a lovely spot for an evening drink. Totnes itself is full of character great independent shops, twice weekly market, and some brilliant places to eat and drink. Simply lovely! This is my second stay at the Cabin and it is an ideal bolthole, perfect for a couple or the single traveller. I'm sure I'll return soon highly recommended. Hide

A wonderful view over Totnes and the River Dart. Very comfortable cabin. Secluded location, and even though the owners were next door, you don't need to be aware of any neighbours. A very easy walk into Totnes. Lovely veranda for sunny evenings.

Lovely little cabin, ideal for two and our dog. Great location very quiet and peaceful with lovely view over Totnes. Has everything you need, the kitchen is basic but we knew this when we booked so wasnt a problem for us. The garden area is ideal for a dog as it is fenced in and the outside bath is a superb luxury touch. Nick the owner was only a tRead moreext message away if we needed anything. If we return to Totnes we would certainly stay again Hide

A great cabin experience, well set up and designed. Totnes a good place to be though walking access has to be considered. We are looking to go back.

Lovely view across Totnes and river from decking. Bath outside is unusual but I couldnt resist it. Bed and sofa very comfortable, just what you need after a day exploring. Fairly steep slope with steps from car park to cabin so not suitable for infirm guests. TV in both bedroom and sitting area which was handy at times. Enjoyed our stay.
