  • Tasteful and inviting lodge on the banks of the river Cherwell
  • Riverside location but close to the historic city of Oxford
  • A haven for those looking for a relaxing holiday, fishing, punting or enjoying the wildlife
Property code: CC103

Near to the edge of the city of Oxford, you definitely won’t be short of great places to visit and see. The world-renowned university dates back as far as 1188 and has produced some of the world’s greatest minds. The Bodleian Library, Pitt Rivers Museum and The Ashmolean should be high on the list of any Oxford sights - a camera is essential. There are shops galore at the centre of Oxford too; if you like reading the choice of bookshops is bottomless but there is a very broad range of pubs, restaurants, shops, theatres and cinemas to visit. Take a punt from Folly Bridge to pretty Iffley Lock on a sunny day; or board an open-top bus to see the sights, or you could even enjoy a massive picnic in Christchurch Meadows. There is a large selection of historical places to check out on your stay near Oxford.

Enter the holiday cabin via a hallway and you will reach the spacious open plan living area. The lounge/kitchen/diner is roomy and light. The lounge area has ample comfortable seating for unwinding in front of the TV/DVD at the end of a day’s touring. Nearby is a dining table for six guests. The kitchen area includes electric oven and gas hob, microwave, hi-fi, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. There is a utility room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer. The three bedrooms includes two doubles, one of with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The third bedroom is a twin. Nearby is the main bathroom with a shower over bath and WC.

Outside the holiday lodge is a veranda that runs the full width of the lodge. Packed with neat flora and fauna, the shared garden is a beguiling spot to recoup and make plans for the rest of the holiday stay in Oxford and the surrounding area. Every lodge has its own garden area, with furniture and a BBQ, and access to the riverside grounds located via a private entrance. Please enquire in advance if you’d like to go punting or enjoy some fishing as it can be arranged for you, as well as weekly cleaning, secretarial, and an advance grocery order service.

We where met by a lovely lady, Lyn. Only smiles and a lovely chat. She showed us the cottage and was very accomodating. It was extremly hot the period we where there so when the main waterline for Oxford had a major leak, Berry showed up with water for us and told us if we needed anything we just had to ask. We had a lovely time, and if we any timeRead more will be back in the area we will check if they are available. Furthermore, if they manage to fix their garden back into the state it was, wow...!!
